After releasing a lookbook for its Fall/Winter 2019 collection, Bodega is now presenting Polo Sport Ralph Lauren’s seasonal capsule with an editorial that celebrates “a season known to bring both reminiscent glimpses of summer’s graces as well as brutal reminders of the impending winter.” The ten-piece Polo Sport Outdoors collection draws from the brand’s archives to reinterpret classic Sportsman releases of the late ’90s with a rugged and exploratory aesthetic.
Old patches and number tags are recommissioned alongside reconstructed prints, while a colorful blend of textures, patterns and fabrics create fashionable, patchwork looks. A highlight of the collection is a multi-colored Hooded Poncho, which combines Polo Sport’s bold aesthetic with the rugged utilitarianism of Polo Sportsman. Seasonal layering pieces, such as a 2-in-1 vest and heavily-patterned sweater, sport built-in, detachable bags, while Ralph Lauren’s tactical roll-top backpack combines modern tech with retro styling. Rounding out the collection are lightweight Booney and Sportsman hats and a reproduction of the The Polo Sport Mountain Sneaker, an urban suede hiking boot that was popular in the ’90s.
