Akon explains why he understands the 6ix9ine situation: “And Says We Can't Blame Him”

Akon thinks that while 6ix9ine is telling the truth, he is not necessarily wrong.

After more than a year of suspense, we are ready to finally discover Tekashi 6ix9ine's criminal fate next month. As a culture, we have determined that reporting in any way is not appropriate. We are created to take responsibility for our own actions. If you are caught in a dirty business, you must be ready to face the consequences without reporting any of your other homies.

As you all know, 6ix9ine did not adhere to the street code, handing over to the feds whatever his team was involved in and crossing his fingers to free him from police custody. He is set to become a free man next month, already signing a new deal with his record label and Akon believes we can't blame the colored-haired rapper for what he did.

During a recent interview with Capital Xtra, singer Akon spoke exactly what he thinks of Tekashi's judgment, noting that the rapper may actually have done the right thing. "With Tekashi it's a little different, because he comes from a generation that really didn't have moral ethics," said the 46-year-old. “I really can't talk about why he would do that, but it's probably for the obvious reasons. But everyone goes through something in their lives that drives them to do things that they feel are in their own best interest. And I think, you really can't blame him if what he's saying is telling the truth. ”

By the end of the day, Tekashi 6ix9ine was being threatened by his gang members, who also tried to kidnap the rapper and he did what he believed was best for his safety and that of his family.
