Well this is not nice.
Herve Leger, the brand and designers of the bandage dress has body shamed women and also had a go at insulting the lesbian community as well.
One of the UK marketing directors bizarrely came out with a list of women (to the Daily Mail of all places) that he feels should stay away from the bandage dress including women described as 'voluptuous'. His words not mine. Oh and 'women with very large hips.'
Patrick Couderc is his name. Incase anyone is feeling a twitter rant coming on.
"If you’re a committed lesbian and you are wearing trousers all your life, you won’t want to buy a Leger dress," he claimed. "Lesbians would want to be rather butch and leisurely."
WTactualF.
He does actually have praise for Cheryl Cole as having the ideal figure for the bandage dress. A women who has sparked outrage with her tiny figure recently. But what a surprise, a man commenting on a women's body and also, a man dictating to women AND a man working in fashion talking about preferring small thinner bodies. Victoria Beckham has also worn a lot of the dress as well. It starts at the retail price of £720.
I wouldn't in a million years be seen in a bandage dress. I never have wanted to. I think none of us should ever want to be seen in one ever again. I've always found a dress that is skintight, low cut, awkward to wear, rides up the thigh so you tug it down all the time, short and requires that you wear control pants.....kind of cheap.
